I’ve been on the hunt for a killer coffee table for my home for a very long time. The custom blue ottoman that I’m currently using has worked well so far and really is the perfect size for the space, but I hate that it has also become an ideal spot for people’s feet… Yeah. Gross.
For people with kids, however, an ottoman is such a good solution. It’s soft and safe with no sharp edges, and I’ve noticed that every toddler that comes to my house tends to gravitate towards it. Even a round table is better suited for children. The surface might still be a little dangerous, but at least there aren’t any sharp corners!
So in my search for the perfect alternative to my ottoman, I thought I’d show you some of my favorites finds along the way. There’s a variety of styles of coffee tables, so check out my tips to see what might work best for you!
I’d also love to hear your thoughts on which coffee table you think would work best in my home… thanks!!

1 – This bone tile tabletop with its sleek metal legs is a wonderful option for people looking for a stylish piece that will brighten up their space as well.
2 – I love how beautiful and elegant this coffee table is. It’s really for the person who wants a sophisticated yet feminine look to their living room. I would not buy it if you have little kids though. Mirrors and glass could be disastrous!
3 – Not the most practical (or safe) piece for people with kids, but this is definitely one of my top picks in terms of style. It’s a concrete top with beautiful brass legs. Modern luxe to the max!
4 – This is a total statement piece and would look great in a home with fairly neutral and matchy matchy furniture. It’s also a good way of bringing a more ethnic piece into a home that needs some character.
5 – I saw this table in person and it is sooo pretty! The marble top is the perfect way of brightening up a space.
6 – If you’re more of a farmhouse kinda person and want to try a lighter color, this might be the piece for you.
7 – A more traditional table and is ideal for people who need more surface area. Keep in mind though that it is a very low table (about 16 inches). I don’t think it’ll look that awkward with larger couches, but just something to keep in mind if you don’t like low tables! Another option that’s similar is the Griffin Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table from Pottery Barn. At BD 350, it’s much more expensive, but it’s the right height and more rectangular!
8 – If you’re into marble, but not really the iron look, this is a gorgeous option for you. I kinda want it…
9 – Ummm so I LOVE this table mostly because it’s not only at such a low price point, but apparently is really easy to hack. This tutorial by Olive Lane Interiors looks so simple and amazing, so just use any spray paint color you’re obsessed with these days (especially a dull gold) and try it out! And if you’d prefer having a rectangular table, just try this hack on the other items in this collection. Let me know if you do it though, I gotta see it!!
10 – This coffee table would probably work really well for people who tend to like traditional, farmhouse or industrial styles. “The ONE” also has a round option in the same finish as well.
FYI – if you’re in the market for an ottoman and can’t find what you want, consider getting one custom made! I actually had my beautiful blue ottoman made by a local vendor. You can read all about my custom fabric projects here.

I love this post Naveen! I’ve got to say I like the concrete table best, but for your place I LOVE your blue ottoman ☺️
