While we needed a lot of new furnishings for Theresa’s Living & Dining Room Makeover, her bedroom was a totally different story! It’s a small room, but not only is the furniture great with lots of storage, but more importantly… it fits perfectly in the space.
So to cozy up the room we didn’t actually need to add too many new pieces. They just had to be items that had quite a bit of impact and wouldn’t make the space look cluttered. Overall, we just added some white textured bedding with a few more pillows, a couple of lamps, a couple of mirrors, a set of curtains, some accessories, and a fiddle leaf fig tree! I know it all sounds pretty simple, but it definitely made a huge difference…

I loved the lamps that we used in the dining room so much that we used the same set in the bedroom as well! It was just the perfect amount of texture and subtle character that the room needed.
The mirrors were also an extremely important addition to this room. Not only do they help reflect more light in the morning, but also in the evening with the lamps right in front of them. You can see below how cozy it looks with the lamps on…
I absolutely love the window treatments in this room, and it’s all thanks to the ANNAKAJSA collection from IKEA. If you’re in need of a thick, room-darkening curtain and don’t want to spend too much on it, this is the set for you! We actually used the blue version of these curtains downstairs in Theresa’s house, and the gray was used upstairs. A set of white blinds by Sedar were also added to this room for more light control and privacy.
See how simple the changes were, and how much of an impact they made? Sometimes you don’t need more stuff, but you just need to be more strategic about it…
Hope you liked this mini makeover!
