It’s my Thursday Faves!! I feel like this week’s theme is heavy on adding black to a space… Check it out below…
Also, I just wanted to tell you all about a new section to my site called RESOURCES – it shows you all of the articles that I’ve written on stores in the Eastern Province, and includes a large list of the stores that you can visit for home goods in Dhahran and Bahrain. The list will continue to grow so if you want me to add any stores to it, just send me a note or add a comment and I’ll put it in! I hope you like having this “resource!”
My Favorite House Tour
This Chicago home tour on Style Me Pretty Living is just so damn cool. I love how Lori Paranjape uses small pops of bright colors and bold patterns, mixed in with a serious dose of black, to make the living room look modern and still so welcoming. I’m actually really surprised at how just a few colors and patterns have added so much depth to an otherwise very neutral palette. Even the shape of the furniture is so unique and changes the whole vibe. I’m totally in awe.
My Favorite Recipe
This Piri Piri chicken recipe by Pab’s Kitchen is YUM. After having chicken in Lisbon, I was desperate for a recipe that came as close to the one that I had in Portugal and this is perfect. I’d also highly recommend watching her video on making this chicken on YouTube as it really helped me see what the colors and process should be. I change it up slightly by making cuts in the skin and marinating the chicken for a few hours in the sauce. It helps make it super tender. I don’t garnish with any coriander as I don’t think it goes well with these flavors. Also, if you’re scared of spice, just try it spicy once because I feel like this recipe is so much more flavorful when the chicken is spicy. My Favorite Décor
I stopped by Desert Designs this week to see their gorgeous black and white bone inlay collection, and it did not disappoint! This collection is absolutely gorgeous and can be the perfect amount of black for any space. As you can see above in Lori’s design, a little bit of black can really add so much depth. My Favorite Pinterest find
This living room transformation that Emily Henderson did for Bri Emery is from 2013, but it still looks so good and totally fits in with today’s trends. I can see why this image garners so much attention on Pinterest – it’s such a great balance of color and pattern, and totally inspires me to keep adding punches of colors to spaces with just a hint of black!Have an amazing long weekend and Happy Saudi National Day!
