Oh my goodness, I think our winter – a.k.a. my favorite time of the year – is finally coming… We had a bit of a sandstorm in the middle of the week, but surprisingly, it brought some cooler weather with it! This also means that some work that I had planned for my backyard will probably be starting soon – will keep you posted on my Insta and Facebook stories.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
My Favorite House Tour
Architectural Digest’s feature of supermodel Alessandro Ambrosio’s home literally took my breath away. It’s one of the classiest globally-inspired homes I’ve ever seen.
Her home was designed by the amazing Martyn Lawrence Bullard, a multi-award winning designer based in LA. I first learned about Bullard from Bravo TV’s, “Million Dollar Decorator” show, and absolutely loved his eclectic style. He knows how to work colors, patterns and textures so well, it’s insane. You can clearly see how he works his magic in the interior of this home, but what really transported me to a different world was the outdoor space. I so desperately want to replicate it for myself. I know. I say that about so many things, but this time, I swear I really mean it!!
My Favorite Recipe
If you follow Tasty on Facebook, I’m sure you’ve been tempted to try so many of their recipes. They always make everything look so quick and easy! So when this sweet potato lover saw this Sweet Potato and Chick Pea Salad pop up on my newsfeed, I just had to try it! It was deeeelish and so simple. I devoured it in one sitting…
My Favorite Décor
So this isn’t really a décor item, but something that can help you achieve your DIY decorating goals! Last year, I found Rust-Oleum’s Chalked Paint (spray paint) in Manazel and decided to test it out on an outdoor planter, which you can check out in this post. It was seriously such a pleasure to work with!
What I really like about chalked paint is that it requires minimal prep work, and the paint is so thick that you don’t need more than a coat or two on most projects. Luckily, Manazel had a whole shelf full of chalked paint when I was there a couple of weeks ago, so if you’re heading to Bahrain and like to do DIY projects, I suggest you stop by there and stock up on a few cans of paint.
My Favorite IG Find
So this is a little bit different from my normal “My Favorite Pinterest Find,” but it’s only because I found @designsixtyfive‘s home tour on Instagram, and just had to show you what she did to a mirror in her master bathroom.
She basically took the MONGSTAD mirror from IKEA, and added this grasscloth peel and stick wallpaper from Amazon to it. Most gorgeous IKEA hack ever, right? I’m pretty sure that if I tried to do the same thing though, it would be an epic fail, but if you are a good DIYer, I think you should try this… And if you do, I wanna see! And I’m sure that Marcie, from @designsixtyfive, will want to as well, so make sure to tag her!
