I’m all about appreciating small spaces this week especially since I’ve been doing so much work in my little office, which I hope to show you very soon!
My Favorite House Tour: I’ve had this Glitter Guide tour of Natalie Chong’s small apartment in Toronto bookmarked for ages. It has always been such a great source of inspiration for me especially when it comes to smaller rooms. What I really admire about Natalie’s style is that she’s able to take a neutral base and make it look so interesting and comfortable. This strategy of using neutral colors can make a space look open, and allows you so much flexibility when you want to add a pop of color, bring in a statement piece or just want to decorate with a trendy item once in a while. I also love her ability to blend functionality and aesthetics – it’s really an art when you’re dealing with small rooms!
My Favorite Recipe: This Black Bean Salad with Corn by Once Upon a Chef is so incredibly amazing that you won’t be able to stop eating it. I’m not kidding. It’s like crack. You can thank me later.
My Favorite Décor: I’m always looking for great solutions to my rental woes. I wanted to add pattern to my walls and since wallpaper is not the ideal solution, maybe removable wallpaper is! I’m not sure how well this works for someone with popcorn walls everywhere (like me), but it’s worth an attempt…
My Favorite Designer: Whitney Leigh Morrison does small spaces SO well that her Instagram could actually convince you that you should move into a tiny home. Her blog “The Tiny Canal Cottage” has amazing solutions for people who are struggling to figure out how to maximize space. It just goes to show that with a little bit of thought, you can live anywhere in the world and still make it beautiful and totally comfortable for your family.
My Favorite Instagram Find: This repost from @keely.mann that I shared on my Instagram account this week (@thedesignsouk) was so popular that I thought I’d share it on My Thursday Faves too!
Hope you have fun this weekend 🙂
